Dark Skin Beautiful was born out of a deep respect for the richness, resilience, and radiance of our skin, hair, and heritage. We believe the best care comes from listening — to our bodies, to nature, and to the wisdom passed down through generations. Every formula is crafted with clean, effective ingredients that don’t just sit on the surface, but work in harmony with the body to heal, restore, and empower confidence from within. As a Black woman and Army veteran-owned business, DSB carries forward a legacy of discipline, care, and purpose in every product we create.
In many traditions, a yogi is one who seeks balance — between body and spirit, discipline and flow, self and community. That same philosophy lives at the heart of DSB. Our work is about more than skin and hair; it’s about creating harmony, honoring culture, and guiding people back to the strength that was always within them. By what some might call coincidence — but I know is purpose — “Yogi” also happens to be the nickname I’ve carried my whole life. What was once just a name has become a path: a reminder that DSB is not simply a business, but a calling to nurture, restore, and teach balance through nature’s gifts.

From the Bronx to the military and now to a family life rooted in the land, the journey behind Dark Skin Beautiful is one of strength, reinvention, and purpose. Along the way, I’ve built DSB with the same values I carried through every chapter: discipline, creativity, and a commitment to leaving things better than I found them. What began as a personal passion for creating natural solutions grew into a mission — to uplift others through products designed specifically for our skin, our textures, and our needs.
